Ubersuggest Review: My Honest Review After Months of Use

Ubersuggest Review

If you want more traffic from Google, you need the right tools. But most SEO tools cost a lot. That’s why I gave Ubersuggest a try.

It’s Neil Patel, a well-known name in digital marketing, who made it. The tool promises keyword ideas, traffic data, content tips, and more. And the best part? You can start for free.

At first, I was doubtful. Can a mostly free tool really compete with the big names like Ahrefs or Semrush? I decided to find out.

In this post, I’ll share what I found after using Ubersuggest for my blog. I’ll show you what works, what doesn’t, and if the free version is enough. Keep reading if you’re a blogger, small business owner, or marketer.

Ubersuggest Review 2025: My Honest Experience

I’ve used many SEO tools over the years. Some were too complicated. Others were just too expensive. Then, I tried Ubersuggest.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It looked simple. The price seemed low. It had limited features at the time (they’ve gradually added new features later). Could it really help me grow my traffic?

So, I gave it a fair shot. I used it frequently for keyword research, content ideas, and SEO checks.

In this Ubersuggest review, I’ll share what worked, what didn’t, and whether Ubersuggest is still worth using in 2025.

1. Clean dashboard

ubersuggest dashboard

Ubersuggest has a clean dashboard. You will see shortcuts to access various tools on the left sidebar. It is easy to navigate.

On the main screen, it will show tips next to each section. So you can quickly know its purpose and how to fix things. Create your website projects to monitor content, find new opportunities, run audits, analyze traffic, etc.

Ubersuggest has a Chrome extension, also. It will show SEO data directly in Google search results. You will see monthly search volume, CPC, and keyword difficulty for searched keywords. It will also tell you how much traffic a web page receives and what its domain score is.

2. Keyword research

ubersuggest keyword research

One of the main reasons I started using Ubersuggest was for keyword research. As a blogger, finding the right keywords is key. You want topics people search for—but not so competitive that you can’t rank.

Ubersuggest makes that part simple.

Just type in a keyword or topic. It shows you search volume, SEO difficulty, paid difficulty, and cost per click in seconds. This helps you know whether the keyword is worth targeting.

ubersuggest keyword research tool

There’s also a list of keyword suggestions. You’ll see related terms, questions, comparisons, and even prepositions. These help you build out full content plans from one idea.

What do I like most? The color-coded difficulty scores. Green means easy, orange is moderate, and red means hard. It gives you a quick sense of what to focus on.

Another cool feature is search volume trends. You can see if interest in a topic is growing or falling. That’s helpful when deciding what content to prioritize.

ubersuggest keyword ideas

I also use the “Filter” option to narrow down results. You can set volume limits or exclude certain words. Set SEO Difficulty to Easy (0-35) to view easy-to-rank keywords. This saves time and helps you focus only on useful terms.

First Page Potential (FPP) is an interesting feature of Ubersuggest keyword research. It can also display only those keyword ideas that are likely to rank on the first page for your website.

Switch to the Questions tab at the top to view question-based keywords and Comparisons to get ideas for comparison posts. You can always change your target location and language in the search bar for country-based keyword suggestions.

And yes, the free plan comes with limited daily searches. But even with that, I got tons of value before I upgraded.

If you’re new to keyword research, Ubersuggest feels less confusing than other tools. It’s beginner-friendly but still powerful. I was able to discover low-competition keywords that brought real traffic.

Overall, Ubersuggest makes keyword research easier, faster, and more focused. I use it very frequently, or when I plan a new post.

3. Competitor analysis

ubersuggest traffic analytics

Ubersuggest gives you a complete picture of what your competitors are doing online. It can reveal their top keywords across countries, including their ranking position, estimated visits, SEO difficulty, and search volume. Not only keywords, but you will also get detailed information about their backlinks, content, and so on.

First, enter a competitor’s domain into the search bar. Ubersuggest generates a report with its monthly organic and paid traffic, traffic percentage, top-performing pages, ranking keywords, traffic trends, backlinks, etc. And it helps you learn what’s working for others in your niche.

For example, I looked up a competing blog in my industry. Within seconds, I saw which pages brought them the most traffic. I found out which keywords they rank for. I even discovered blog titles that were doing well. These insights gave me new content ideas and gaps I could fill.

The backlink report is another powerful part. You can see who links to your competitors and how strong those links are. This helps if you’re working on a link-building strategy. You can reach out to the same sites or pitch them better content.

ubersuggest top pages

There’s also a section called “Top Pages.” This section shows which pages are getting the most visits. It’s an excellent resource for content planning. If a competitor has a how-to guide getting 10,000+ visits a month, I ask myself: Can I write a better one?

One of the best parts? Ubersuggest also shows estimated traffic for each page. It’s not 100% exact, but it gives a pretty good idea. You can compare this to your numbers and see where you stand.

Another thing I appreciate is how the data is presented. You get charts, graphs, and tables—nothing complicated. Clear info you can use right away.

Compared to other tools I’ve tried, Ubersuggest keeps it simple. Some platforms show too much data, and it’s easy to get lost. Here, it’s focused. You get what you need, and nothing extra.

If you’re a blogger, small business, or just starting with SEO, this feature is worth checking out. It gives you valuable insights. It also helps you plan your next move based on real data.

Overall, the competitor analysis tool in Ubersuggest has helped me think smarter. I don’t just guess what content to make anymore. I study what’s working for others—and then do it better.

4. Bulk analysis

bulk keyword analysis

Ubersuggest has a bulk analysis tool to analyze up to 50 keywords in 1 click. It is beneficial to retrieve data for similar keywords like “best free seo tools”, “best seo tools”, “best blogging tools”, “best writing tools”, etc, at once.

For each keyword, you get practical details like:

  • Monthly search volume
  • SEO difficulty
  • Paid competition
  • Cost per click (CPC)
  • Top ranking pages

You can also sort and filter the results easily. Want to find low-competition keywords with good traffic? Apply filters to view low-competition or high-paying keywords.

This feature will help you build blog topic lists faster. Instead of guessing what to write about, you can focus on keywords that are easier to rank for. If you are planning a complete content cluster, run a batch of related terms and compare them.

Bulk analysis is a good option if you write a lot, run niche sites, or manage client blogs. It helps you see what’s worth your time and effort—without clicking back and forth endlessly.

5. Keyword lists

keyword list ubersuggest

Keyword list or keyword manager is another feature of Ubersuggest. It lets you save keywords into separate lists and track metrics such as difficulty score, search volume, top 10 results, and average CPC easily.

Whenever I’m doing keyword research, I don’t want to lose good ideas. Instead of copying and pasting keywords into a document, I click the “Add to List” button in Ubersuggest. You can create lists based on your blog categories, clients, or content ideas. I’ve got separate lists for travel topics, SEO tutorials, and affiliate product reviews.

What I like most is how easy it is to revisit those saved lists later. I don’t have to repeat research or try to remember which keyword I found last week. It’s all there—saved and sorted. You can also name each list, so everything stays neat and easy to find.

Each keyword in your list shows the necessary data: search volume, SEO difficulty, paid difficulty, and cost per click. That means I can compare all my saved keywords in one place. It’s perfect for when I sit down to plan my next blog post.

I also use the lists to build content clusters. For example, if I write a pillar article on “email marketing,” I’ll collect related keywords and save them to a list. Later, I break them down into smaller articles and link them all together. It’s a great way to build authority around one topic.

This feature helps you stay focused. Instead of jumping from one idea to another, you can collect everything in one place and return when YOU’re ready to write.

If you like working in batches or planning, Keyword Lists can make your workflow smoother. It’s a minor feature, but it makes a big difference.

6. Keyword gap

Keyword Generator is another smart tool for generating keywords to target on your website. Start by entering your domain and a competitor’s domain, and set a target location.

This tool will analyze both websites and find the keyword gap in seconds. Find out which keywords your competitor is ranking for, but you are not. Ubersuggest will list and sort the keywords based on your website content, from most to least relevant. Export data in CSV format to add missing keywords to your upcoming content pipeline.

7. SERP Rank Tracking

Ubersuggest has a SERP rank tracking tool. It allows you to collect ranking keywords from Google Analytics and even track custom keywords with position updates. You can quickly see if your content is moving up, staying the same, or falling behind.

Create your domain projects and add the keywords you want to track. Ubersuggest checks their positions every day and shows you the changes. You don’t have to search or guess where your pages will appear.

On top of the page, it will show you how many keywords are moving up, down, and remaining the same. Next, you can see a graphical chart to monitor the changes in average ranking over time. Ubersuggest will also list your keyword rankings in the top 3, top 10, and top 100 positions.

Click the computer or mobile icon to view your mobile and desktop ranking data. It will tell you what keywords are ranking on phone and computer searches.

8. Keyword visualization

Keyword Visualization

The keyword visualization feature in UberSuggest gives you a different way to look at keyword data. Instead of long lists and numbers, it shows keyword suggestions as a cluster or mind map. This makes it easy to find related keywords and new content ideas at a glance.

When you enter a keyword, UberSuggest creates a visual layout. Your primary keyword appears in the center, and all related keywords are branched out around it. Each branch leads to more keyword ideas. You can click on any of them to explore further.

This setup is helpful if you’re planning blog topics or trying to build topic clusters. You can quickly see which terms are closely related. For example, if you type “digital marketing,” you’ll see branches like “social media marketing,” “email marketing,” and “content strategy.” Each of those branches opens up more ideas.

This view is pretty and useful. It helps you notice keywords you might not have thought of. With everything visually grouped together, it’s easy to connect ideas.

You can still see common data like search volume, SEO difficulty, paid difficulty, and CPC rate. Hover over or click on any of the keyword bubbles or switch to the Data layout.

I use this tool when I’m stuck. Seeing topics like a map gives me a new direction. It feels more creative than scrolling through plain text. You can also download the data if you want to keep it for later.

9. Trending content ideas

Content ideas

The Content Ideas section on Ubersuggest is one of my favorite tools. It helps you find out what topics already work for others. It saves time and gives you a clear picture of what content people want to read.

Enter a keyword, and the tool shows you honest articles from all over the internet. These are blog posts, guides, listicles, and how-to articles already gaining traction.

You can see how many people have shared them on Facebook, what keywords bring traffic to them, and how many people visit each page from Google searches. This gives you a rough idea of how popular each one is. Ubersuggest will also list individual backlinks for each page with the anchor text used, the authority score of the referring page.

It works fast. In seconds, you can scroll through a list of blog titles. Many of them can spark new ideas. For example, if you search for “productivity tips,” you might see posts like “10 Morning Routines That Will Help You Stay Productive All Day Long.” That alone could lead to five different content ideas.

You don’t need to copy these topics. They help you understand what people are interested in. You can take the same idea and write it your way, add more value, or share your experience related to the topic.

Clicking on any result will open the original article. This allows you to read what others have done before you start writing. You can also filter the list based on social shares or backlinks to find ideas that have performed well.

The suggestions are realistic, straightforward, and based on what is getting clicks and traffic.

10. Content optimization

ubersuggest seo

Ubersuggest provides a quick way to discover what’s missing on your website. It looks for areas where you can improve to get better rankings. This includes fixing minor errors, updating content, and finding pages that could perform better with a few changes.

When you enter your domain, Ubersuggest scans your site and shows you a list of suggestions. These are sorted by low word count, missing meta descriptions, or weak internal linking. You’ll also see keywords ranking on pages two or three—close to the top, but not quite yet.

Once, this tool showed me some blog posts stuck in positions 11 to 20 on Google. I updated those posts, added a few headlines, and linked to them from other pages. Some of them had moved to the first page within a few weeks.

You can also filter the results. Want to focus only on SEO issues? Use drop-down filters and choose SEO issues. Looking for content updates? Select the Optimize or New content option.

11. Backlink checker

ubersuggest backlink checker

The backlink checker on Ubersuggest helps you see who is linking to your website and your competitors. Backlinks are links from other sites that point to your pages. These links are important because they can improve your Google ranking and increase traffic.

At first, you will see the Domain Authority, the number of referring domains, and the number of backlinks for the searched domain. Next, there is a chart showcasing its backlinks over time and new & lost referring domains.

Visit the Anchor text distribution section to view the most popular anchor texts of a domain with the number of backlinks. Check referring domains by DA chart, to analyze your target domain’s link profile and find the number of referring domains in different domain authority changes.

Check backlinks for Free with Ubersuggest

Using this tool is simple. Enter a domain or URL. Ubersuggest will show you a list of websites that link to it. Each backlink shows details like:

  • Source URL (where the link is coming from)
  • Target URL (where this link is pointing to)
  • Anchor text(the clickable words used)
  • Domain Authority/Page Authority score(how strong the linking site is)
  • Follow/no follow links
  • First and last, when this backlink is seen

You can sort the list by date, domain, or page authority. This is helpful if you’re trying to find the best backlinks or if you’re trying to find new ones that have recently appeared.

The backlink checker also shows your lost backlinks. These are links that have been removed or no longer work. If a good link disappears, you can reach out to the site owner and ask them to fix it.

You can export all the data to a spreadsheet for later use. This is great for building a link-building plan or working with a team.

12. Backlink opportunity

backlink opportunity

The Backlink Opportunity tool on Ubersuggest helps you find websites that link to your competitors but not to you. It shows you where you’re missing out and where you’re likely to get a backlink.

To use it, enter your domain and add one or more competitor domains. Ubersuggest scans their backlinks and compares them to yours. It then gives you a list of websites that link to them but not to you. These sites already link to content in your niche, so there’s a good chance they’re open to connecting to yours too.

Each result includes:

  • Referring domain
  • The exact page on their site where the link appears
  • Domain score and page score

This makes it easy to decide who to contact and what content they like to link to. You can use this tool during outreach. If you see a blog that links to three of your competitors, it means that they’re interested in the topic. So you can create a better or more updated version of that content and reach out.

It is a simple way to build backlinks without the guesswork. These sites are willing to provide links in your niche. Thus, it saves your time in outreach.

13. AI writer

Ubersuggest’s AI writer can create content based on a topic or keyword you provide. It’s part of the same dashboard, so there’s no need to switch between tools or open new tabs.

When you open AI Writer, it asks for a topic or keyword. Once you type it in, the tool creates a draft article in seconds. The content includes a headline, a short introduction, and multiple subheadings. It’s built around your keyword, and the flow feels natural.

For example, if you type in “blogging tips for beginners,” the AI will write a whole article around it. It covers topics like choosing a niche, writing headlines, and full content. You can copy and edit the draft, or use it as a basis for a longer one.

While preparing this Ubersuggest review, I tested this feature. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good way to get over writer’s block. It can help you get started quickly if you’re stuck or need a quick draft.

You can choose the language and region before you create an article. This means that the content can be more closely matched to your audience.

You can generate blog posts, social media posts, outlines, and ad copies. Remember that an AI writer isn’t a replacement for human writing, but it’s a great helper.

14. AI search visibility (soon)

Ubersuggest will show you how your website appears in AI-powered search results. Tools like ChatGPT, Google’s AI Reviews, and Bing AI are changing the way people get answers. This feature helps you see whether or not your content is showing up in those answers.

Find which keywords you are ranking for in regular searches and which ones are showing up in AI-generated answers. The tool highlights whether your site was mentioned in AI summaries or ignored entirely.

Many users now get answers directly from AI instead of clicking on links. So, if your content isn’t showing up in those summaries, you could be missing out on traffic.

This tool shows you three key things:

  • Keywords that make you visible in AI-generated responses
  • Keywords that mention your competitors but don’t mention you
  • Gaps in your content that could help you get picked next time

You can compare your visibility to any other site. Enter a competitor’s domain and see where they’re mentioned. This helps you find a few topics you hadn’t covered before.

Final thoughts

After using Ubersuggest for several months, I can say it’s been a helpful part of my work. I’ve used it for keyword research, content ideas, domain analysis, and tracking rankings. It’s not perfect, but it gives real value—especially if you’re a solo blogger, freelancer, or small business owner.

The tools are simple. You don’t need to be an expert. From keyword suggestions to content audits, everything is a few clicks away. The AI features are improving, and the keyword data feels reliable for most niches.

Some parts are better than others. I liked the keyword generator and SEO opportunities the most. The traffic overview is useful too, but it may not always match other tools. That said, it gives a good starting point for most content plans.

The keyword visualization tool was a surprise too—it made idea planning more visual and fun.

If you’re looking for an affordable SEO tool with solid features, Ubersuggest is worth a try. You can start free, explore what it offers, and upgrade if needed. The paid plans are cheaper than many other tools on the market.

This Ubersuggest Review is based on my daily use. I mentioned what I saw after logging in again and again. If you want to grow your blog or business through content, it can help you get moving in the right direction.

Try it yourself and see what fits your style. Ubersuggest may not do everything, but it does enough to make a real difference.
